NRF and NCCR rely on an interactive committee structure, open to members in good standing, for the formulation and execution of policies, guidelines, standards and strategies consistent with industry objectives. These committees are, without exception, designed to be representative of the industry and reflect its breadth and diversity. They are comprised of industry specialists in their individual fields who give generously of their time and knowledge to set policy and help develop positions on important operations or public policy issues which will benefit the industry at large. Existing for the purpose of advancing the industry, our councils and committees may engage in a number of activities, including:

  • Information exchange
  • Setting of public policy positions
  • Research
  • Benchmarking
  • Product development
  • Shared opportunities for purchase of services
  • Presentation of testimony
  • Standards setting
  • Publishing

NCCR Board of Directors
The NCCR Board of Directors is the governing body that oversees the activities of the National Council of Chain Restaurants. It is comprised of senior executives from the nation’s leading chain restaurant companies.

NCCR Food Safety Task Force
This task force is comprised of designated representatives from NCCR member food service companies, normally quality assurance, food safety or technical service staff. The Task Force provides a forum for members to network and share food safety and technical information of common interest for mutual benefit. The Task Force also develops positions and statements for NCCR on food safety and technical issues for adoption or approval by the NCCR Board of Directors. Membership is open to any NCCR member executive.

NCCR Public Relations Group
This special interest group of chain restaurant public relations officers meets when appropriate to craft an industry response to media inquiries. Membership is open to any NCCR member executive.

NCCR Food Supply Chain Committee
This committee focuses on issues impacting the supply chains of chain restaurant companies. At present, the committee is examining the following issues: biofuel policy's impact on commodity prices; dairy price volatility; commodity speculation; and international trade impacts on the supply chain.
